Overview
The Advanced Industrial Snowmobile Safe Operator Course will be held in Lower Mainland/Coquihalla Region. This is a 2 day course, where riding skill learned day one will by practiced and improved upon day 2. Participants will learn more advanced snowmobile riding techniques, including powder turns, and how to get unstuck. Participants will receive hands on snowmobile training, concentrating on snowmobile safety awareness and risk reduction. This course is based on both the Canadian Safety Council and the British Columbia Snowmobile Federation, Industrial Safe Snowmobile Operator Training program.
- Objectives:
-Safe operation of a snowmobile including:
correct rider position on turns, hills, emergency stops, reverse, night riding, crossing roads and obstacles
-how to get unstuck, in various situations - -deep snow, powder turns
-trail riding signals
-PPE and avalanche gear
-terrain assessment
-safe towing of loads and snowmobiles
-snowmobile mechanical operation, and maintenance, trail repairs
-safe transport of snowmobiles including loading/unloading practices
-BC snowmobile regulations - This is a fun and informative course where participant get to practice skills together. It makes for a great team building experience.
